RISD New York Alumni Biennial 2008

The RISD New York Alumni Biennial 2008 is open to RISD alumni, regardless of major or year of graduation, living and/or working within the New York City alumni club mailing area (including the five boroughs: NYC zip codes 10000–11999 and 12500–12699; Connecticut zip codes 06800–06999; and New Jersey zip codes 07000–07799). Artists may be asked to verify their eligibility.

Submitted work will be juried by co-curators Glenn Ligon and Lisa Sigal; only a selected group of artworks will be chosen for exhibition. Each artist may submit three works of art (one image per piece). For three-dimensional works, an additional detail image may be included, for a maximum of three detail images in addition to the images for individual artworks. The dimensions of accepted works should not exceed 8' x 8' x 8'. All materials must be submitted online in digital format through CaFE™. A non-refundable $25 entry fee is required. The deadline for entries is June 27, 2008. Submissions will be selected by July 11, with notification to entrants by July 18. Work is due at the gallery on September 2. The exhibition runs September 7–30, 2008, at The Old American Can Factory, 232 Third Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215, with an opening reception on September 7. Work will be returned on October 1.

Accepted artists must provide all equipment necessary for exhibition and arrange delivery and insurance of work to and from the gallery. Work must be available for the entire exhibition period and in suitable condition for display. All pieces must be original and made by the artist. Accepted artists agree that RISD can use images of their work for print and electronic promotional activity and share email information with fellow artists as appropriate.
