About This Call
The RISD New England Alumni Biennial 2009 is open to RISD alumni, regardless of major or year of graduation, living and/or working within the six-state area (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT). Artists may be asked to verify their eligibility.
The exhibition will be held at The Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. The exhibition space spans three floors with a variety of settings and sites. The large central stairway is particularly suitable for three-dimensional work and sculpture. Work is due at the gallery January 3-4, 2009. The exhibition runs January 8 – February 20, 2009, with a RISD Opening Reception on January 10, 2009. Work pickup is February 28 and March 1, 2009. Notification to entrants will be sent November 14, 2008.
Submitted work will be juried by Dina Deitsch, Assistant Curator at DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park. Only a selected group of artworks will be chosen for exhibition. Video, audio, performance, time-based and other forms of work may be submitted. Submit 3-6 images in digital format through CaFE. The non-refundable entry fee is $25. Sales split: 60% to artist, 20% to the Arsenal Center for the Arts, and 20% to the RISD Alumni Association Diversity Scholarship program.
