RIGA CONTEMPORARY SURREALISM BIENNALE encourages talents from around the world on any stage of their careers who attribute their oeuvre to Automatism, Biomorphism, Dada, Metaphysical Art, and Surrealism, offering them an opportunity to expand their audiences and open new opportunities. The mission of the RIGA CONTEMPORARY SURREALISM BIENNALE is unlocking and supporting the potential of talented artists. As well as to provide an opportunity for a wide audience to get acquainted with the works of contemporary artists whose oeuvre is attributed to the mentioned styles. Biennale is dedicated to the exploration of the Universe of our consciousness, the phenomena of the inner worlds, and deep levels of the human consciousness through the visual arts, writings (essay, poetry, etc.) which make the hidden visible. Along with the main exhibition RIGA CONTEMPORARY SURREALISM BIENNALE includes a variety of activities, such as artist’s talks, panel discussions, contests, interviews, and publications.
