About This Call
The City of Laredo Arts & Culture Division is seeking qualifications from artists and artist teams interested in participating in the implementation of the City's Public Arts Annual Plan. More than 100 public art installations are planned throughout the city, with multiple artists to be selected for projects across diverse sites and settings. Selected artists may have opportunities to participate in multiple projects as the program progresses.
This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will establish a pool of pre-qualified artists who may be invited to develop and submit project-specific designs. Individual project awards will vary based on scope, and selected participants may work on multiple projects under a contract not to exceed $100,000. Artists may be considered for one or more of the following project types: Public Library Murals (indoor and exterior murals at public library locations), Ground-Based Hopscotch Murals (interactive, painted pavement designs in public spaces), Utility Cabinet Mini-Murals (small-scale outdoor mural works on city utility cabinets), Mini Gallery Installations (artwork displayed within small outdoor gallery structures), and Sidewalk Poetry Fabrication.
Questions deadline is February 23rd. RFQ submission deadline is March 3rd, 2026. Installations begin April 2026. Contact Griselda Hidalgo at (956) 794-1736 or [email protected] with questions.
