About This Call
This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for interior artwork to be featured throughout Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. The project seeks artwork for all levels of the hospital, with art consultants creating the final layout once selections are made.
Artwork specifications include: all art types and mediums will be considered if safe and suitable for public display; artwork should be fairly large in scale (16" x 20" or larger), though multiple smaller pieces in a series may work for some spaces; and artwork must specifically feature the animals, color palettes, and graphic designs featured on each floor of the hospital. All artwork must be durable, touchable, cleanable, safe (no sharp edges), and will not fade. Soft art such as blankets, wall hangings, and canvas prints are not permitted in direct patient care areas; in common areas, they must be out of reach or enclosed in Plexiglas. All wall surfaces and art/décor must be washable with germicide and not hold dust or lint.
Applications must be submitted through cafe.org by midnight PST on April 25, 2025. Submit contact information, bio, resume/CV, and 5-10 JPEG images of previous work (audio and video samples optional, up to 2 each). Mark each work as Available or Sold and list pricing. Questions must be submitted by 5 PM PST on April 18, 2025 to [email protected]. Selected artists will be contacted in May 2025, with finalists submitting project concept designs in May/June 2025. Commission awards are expected in June/July 2025, with project installation in February 2026. The project prioritizes Washington State and local Tacoma artists, with artwork reflecting the hospital's values of respect, integrity, stewardship, excellence, collaboration, kindness, and joy.
