Rewriting Her Story

Rewriting Her Story is a 52-week virtual exhibition open internationally, running throughout 2025. Hera Gallery seeks 52 works that rewrite cultural consciousness for a more inclusive human history, inviting artists to share stories of women, trans women, and non-binary folks written out of the history books. The exhibition asks: How can art give voice to the overlooked and underrepresented? How can visual language reclaim more authentic stories beyond patriarchal narratives?

All selected works will be on virtual display throughout 2025 on heragallery.org. Each week, Hera Gallery will feature one artist and their work across social media accounts. Participating artists will have the opportunity to speak in one of two virtual artist talks hosted by the gallery. Submissions are open August 23 - December 1, 2024, with the exhibition running January - December 2025.

Application fee is $15 for three images, with $5 for each additional image (up to 10 total). Artist members and those in financial need should contact [email protected] for a discounted application fee. Submissions must include 3 images of work (three images of one artwork or three different artworks). High-quality images are required as this is a virtual exhibition. All media and international artists are eligible.
