About This Call
Reused and Recycled is a juried exhibition exploring the relationship between discarded materials and art. Site:Brooklyn seeks artists whose practice investigates how recycling and waste intersect with artistic creation. Works across all mediums are welcome.
The exhibition runs November 1–30, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, November 1 from 6–9 PM. The juror is Jean Shin, nationally recognized for monumental installations transforming everyday objects into expressions of identity and community. Her work has been exhibited in over 150 major museums and cultural institutions, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC.
Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images; $10 for each additional image (maximum 12 images total, or up to 3 videos). Only original works may be submitted. All entries must be received by September 12, 2019 at 11:59 PM MT. Notification of acceptance will be sent September 21, 2019. All artwork must be priced for sale, and Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping, and must provide installation methods and complete instructions. Artwork cannot be withdrawn or shipped before the exhibition ends. All entry fees are non-refundable.
