Resistance: Seen & Unseen

Resistance: Seen & Unseen is a juried call for photography that represents, expresses, or documents resistance, seen or unseen. Open to all photo-based work with no limit on subject matter or technique. Beyond the requirement that light was captured somewhere in the process of making your work, there are no limits to the type of resistance you choose to represent. Entries will be judged individually.

Eligibility: Artists of all levels who are at least 18 years or older are invited to enter. Work must be your original creation and exhibition ready. Maximum size is 48" including the frame. Artists may submit up to 20 photographs. Entry fee is $25 for the first image and $10 for each subsequent image. Current RICPA Members receive a 20% discount on the entry fee. All fees are non-refundable.

Exhibition dates: July 17 – August 15, 2025. Registration deadline: June 1, 2025. Delivery of accepted work: on or before July 12, 2025. Reception and awards: July 17, 2025, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Awards will be donated to service organizations: First Prize $200 to the American Civil Liberties Union, Second Prize $200 to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Third Prize $200 to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. RICPA retains a 40% commission on works sold (20% for Supporting & Exhibiting members). The gallery is located at 118 N. Main Street, Providence, RI 02903.
