About This Call
Old Walls Gallery invites submissions for R3SI$T!, an exhibition showcasing protest art of all kinds. The gallery seeks artwork of all media that reflects values of inclusivity, strength in the face of repression, and commitment to truth and justice. Submissions may also include artwork that imagines a new and better world.
The exhibition runs November 1 - December 20, 2024. An opening celebration takes place November 1st during the Downtown ABQ first Friday artwalk, with doors opening at 5pm, a poetry reading at 6pm, and a walk to a nearby house concert at 8pm. A second reception is scheduled for December 6th from 5-8pm. Participating artists are eligible for three awards: $100 Most Radical, $100 Most Hopeful, and $100 People's Choice.
Entry fee is $30 and covers up to 3 images or media samples. Submissions must arrive at the gallery by October 26th. Accepted artists will be notified October 19th. Unsold artwork will be shipped back to artists by January 1, 2025. Old Walls Gallery takes a 20% commission on work sold in the gallery. All artists are eligible to apply.
