About This Call

Resist and Persist: Social (in)Justice is a juried exhibition at Sebastopol Center for the Arts exploring personal responses to social upheaval. The exhibition runs from June 20 - July 26, 2026, and seeks powerful, original works that confront injustice, reclaim identity, honor resistance, or envision hope. All mediums are welcome. Work must fit through a 7' by 7' gallery door and on a 10-foot high wall. Artists worldwide are eligible to submit up to 3 pieces of artwork. All work must have been completed in the last 3 years and not previously shown at SebArts Gallery.

Entry fee is $35 per entry, with a $5 additional fee for any supplementary entry or detail photos. Submissions must be entered online with images 5MB or less in JPEG format. The call opens February 15, 2026 and closes May 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Jurying takes place May 2-7, 2026, with artist notifications by May 8, 2026. Mailed artwork must arrive by June 15, 2026. In-person drop-off is available Sunday June 14, 2026 (2-4 PM) or Tuesday June 16, 2026 (10 AM-2 PM). The opening reception is Saturday June 20, 2026 (2-4 PM).

Awards include 1st place $300, 2nd place $200, 3rd place $100, and $50 coordinator awards. Artists receive 60% of the sales price for work sold. Wall-mounted work must include fixtures and sleeves (except rods and wood bars which SebArts can provide for mailed pieces). All work must include artist name and contact information. Shipped work must be packaged in a reusable container with prepaid return labels. Unsold work will be returned within 15 days after the exhibition closes.
