About This Call
The City of Upper Arlington Cultural Arts Division invites selected artists or artist teams to submit proposals for a temporary public art installation in naturalized areas at Burbank and/or Northwest Kiwanis Park. The artwork should be unique, surprising, and inclusive, connecting visitors to nature and celebrating the natural beauty of Upper Arlington.
The project sites include Northwest Kiwanis Park (4840 Stonehaven Drive, Upper Arlington, OH 43220), a 22-acre park with a wooded area along the south border that has been restored following emerald ash borer damage, and Burbank Park (4780 Stonehaven Drive, Upper Arlington, OH 43220), a 7-acre park with turf and pollinator habitat. The budget for this installation is $10,000, all-inclusive, covering artist/design fee, materials, fabrication, installation, transportation/shipping, project documentation, engineering, travel, site modification, per diem expenses, and contingency. Proposals are due Friday, September 6, 2024. Finalists will be asked to present their proposals virtually to the Art Selection Panel via Zoom during the weeks of September 16-27. A stipend of $300 will be provided to each finalist for proposal development and presentation creation. Work samples should include 1-10 images. Contact: [email protected].
