REPRESENTATIONAL 2023

Heartland Art Club (HAC), The Center of Representational Art in America, announces a National Juried Exhibition, REPRESENTATIONAL 2023, with over $9,000 in cash awards. Selected artists will be featured in the Galleries at Heartland Art Club in Kirkwood, Missouri, as well as online at Heartlandartclub.org from August 16 - October 14, 2023.

All visual artists from around the country are encouraged to submit representational artworks in painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, hand-created graphics, and mixed (traditional) media. Any subject matter holding to the broadly defined concept of representational art is acceptable. Thoroughly abstract works are not appropriate for this call. Artists must be 18 years of age or older and may submit up to three entries, with only one entry per artist eligible for selection. Artwork must have been completed from January 2020 to present and must be entirely original.

Juror and Judge Patricia Watwood will award $3,000 for First Place, $2,000 for Second Place, $1,000 for Third Place, three Honorable Mention Awards at $500 each, and $1,000 for the David Cornell Composition Award, plus various merchandise awards. Certificates of Recognition will be sent to every juried artist. Entry fee is $45.00 plus a $10.00 media fee. Submissions require 1-3 images. Notification of accepted works is June 30, 2023. Artwork receipt deadline is August 5, 2023. Public Opening Reception is August 18, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Artwork retrieval is October 18-21, 2023.
