Repetition, Replication, Variation

The Loading Dock Gallery invites artists based in the New England area to submit work for its annual New England Juried Show and Poetry Convergence. The exhibition theme showcases how artists use repetition, replication of images, patterns, shapes and other elements to convey an aesthetic, message, movement or feeling, and to showcase evolution, contrast and variations of ideas and concepts. All media are welcome.

Eligibility: Open to artists over 18 years of age in the New England region. Entries must be original artworks completed within the last five years. No reproductions. All artworks must be for sale. Video, projection, and performance will not be considered. Entry fee: $35 for non-members (two entries), $25 for Loading Dock Gallery members (two entries). Limited to four entries per artist.

2-D work: Paint, mixed-media, encaustic, charcoal, pastel, collage, mosaic, ceramic, photography, hanging fiber, all print techniques, digital, and shaped canvas accepted. Maximum 48" x 48" wall footprint including frame, no more than 50 lbs., must be hang ready with appropriate hanging hardware for drywall (no sawtooth hangers). Large framed artwork must use non-breakable glazing.

3-D work: Free-standing, pedestal or wall hung with no material restrictions. Free-standing work must not exceed 150 lbs. Pedestal work can be no larger than 6' in any dimension. Wall mounted work can weigh no more than 50 lbs., extend no more than 12" from the wall, and 48" in the longest dimension. All work must have artist-installed hanging hardware suitable for drywall with no special safety requirements. No sawtooth hangers.

Accepted artists will be notified by email by September 18, 2019. Exhibition dates: October 2-27, 2019. Delivery required September 19-29, 2019 to 122 Western Avenue Studios, Lowell MA 01851. Hand delivery only; shipped work will not be accepted. Pick-up begins October 27 and continues through November 1. The Loading Dock Gallery insures work while on display (not in transit). $500 deductible per item. 40% commission required for non-members; artists receive payment within 15 days after the show closes.
