Reno Chalk Art Festival 2017

The second annual Reno Chalk Art Festival takes place during Reno's monthlong Artown celebration in July, specifically the second weekend in July at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. This is a juried event open to both amateur and professional artists with no requirement for previous chalk experience. Artists are invited to submit images for consideration and will be provided pastels to work with; acrylic is not permitted.

Submissions must include a minimum of three high-resolution images for review. Close-ups will be considered standalone images and should be noted as to which larger image they correspond to. Artists must also provide a short statement expressing their interest, a biography, and a high-resolution head shot photo. The submission deadline is Thursday, June 1 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

All participating artists will be provided two meals per day and an event t-shirt. A limited number of complimentary hotel rooms will be available for out-of-town artists and will be assigned based on the quality of art submitted. Artists may ship materials prior to arrival by addressing parcels to: Business Center, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 S Virginia Street, Reno NV 89502, with "HOLD FOR: (ARTIST) ARRIVING (DATE)" noted on the package.
