About This Call
REMNANTS: What's Left Behind is an international juried call for art exploring the concept of what is left behind in art creation and the world. Artists are invited to examine this topic in any medium—whether addressing abandoned buildings, worldviews, creative mistakes, or national issues. The exhibition runs November 1st through December 1st.
Accepted media includes photography, digital art, painting, drawing, watercolor, collage, mixed media, sculpture, video art, printmaking, and more. The application fee is $12 for 3 works, with an additional $6 per work up to a maximum of 10 works per applicant. Artists must submit 3-10 images (minimum 3MB file size). Awards include Best in Show ($150) and 2 Honorable Mention awards ($50 each). The curator is Jeremiah Morris, founder and director of Specto Art Space.
Specto prints all accepted works for exhibition using an Epson SureColor P-800 printer. Prints are maximum 16 inches wide and printed at the artwork's native ratio. Artists must provide 300 DPI print-ready files upon acceptance. The gallery does not sell exhibition prints to maintain the integrity of the installation. Artists may opt into print-on-demand services or have original works sold directly. Specto retains a 35% commission on all sales, with payment remitted within 14 days. An opening reception is held on the First Friday of the month (5-8pm). The exhibition is listed on Artsy.net for 60 days. Jury results are notified 14-21 days after the deadline. International artists are eligible.
