ReMix

SYNC Gallery is accepting submissions for ReMix, an exhibition of alternative process photography and photo-based work presented in conjunction with Denver's Month of Photography 2017, a biennial celebration of fine art photography. The exhibition explores alternative approaches for resolving the balance between process and materials along with imagery and content, celebrating the photograph in all forms including all mediums of artists' individual art practices mixed with any form of photography, collage of photographic materials, alternative printing processes, and everything in between. There is no limitation as to subject matter.

Eligibility: All amateur and professional photographers and artists working in photographic media, residing in the United States, aged 18 and over. Artists may submit a maximum of three individual works of art. Only original works created within the last 2 years will be accepted. All artwork must be suitably mounted or framed and ready for installation. 2D work must not weigh more than 20 pounds and must not exceed 36" in the horizontal dimension including the frame. All 2D work must be wired and ready to hang. 3D work designed to be displayed on a pedestal must not exceed 18" in diameter and weigh less than 30 pounds. 3D work designed to be displayed on the floor must not exceed 36" in diameter and weigh less than 50 pounds. 3D work designed to be hung from the ceiling must not exceed 36" in diameter and 10' in height and must not weigh more than 10 pounds.

Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 artworks (nonrefundable). Submissions must include artist's contact information, title of each artwork with year completed, medium, dimensions and sales price, and artist statement. Exhibition Juror: Rupert Jenkins, a photography curator, writer and arts manager based in Denver. Awards will be given for Best in Show, 1st Place, and 2nd Place, presented by the juror during the Opening Reception on March 17, 2017. SYNC Gallery will retain a 30% commission on sales of artwork. Payment for sold artwork will be mailed on April 24, 2017. Artwork may be shipped to SYNC Gallery, c/o Pam Fortner, 8361 Dudley Ct., Arvada, CO 80005 (shipped artwork will be charged a $10 handling fee and must arrive by March 10, 2017). Hand delivery of artwork will occur on March 12 & 13, 2017 from 12:00-4:00 pm. All unsold artwork can be picked up on April 15, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 pm or April 16, 2017 from 12:00-4:00 pm.
