Reminiscent: A National Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Impressionism

Reminiscent is a juried exhibition at d'Art Center featuring contemporary impressionistic paintings from across the country. Impressionism is a style of art that uses light and color to capture a moment in time rather than a realistic image. This exhibition will feature works from contemporary artists in this style. Works are not required to be "en plein air." The exhibition will be co-curated by Gallery Director Amanda Bradley and Juror and Artist Janice Gay Maker, who is renowned for her exceptional use of color throughout her career spanning multiple mediums including oil paint, oil pastel, and soft pastel.

The exhibition runs Saturday, October 25th through Saturday, November 29th, 2025, with a reception on Thursday, October 30th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The exhibition will also be featured digitally on d'Art Center's archive site. Entry deadline is September 7th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. The entry fee is $35 for 3 submissions, with each additional submission up to 10 total works costing $5 each. Artists must submit 3-10 images. Works cannot exceed 50 pounds or be longer/larger than 60 inches in their longest dimension; size and weight restrictions may be waived by contacting the Gallery Manager prior to submission.

This exhibition is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years. Work must be hang or pedestal ready. Awards include 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($300), and 3rd Place ($150). The d'Art Center commission on sales is 60/40 (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). Accepted works must arrive by 5 p.m. Saturday, October 18th, 2025. The artist is responsible for shipping costs. Works must include pre-paid return labels through FedEx or UPS. Notifications will be sent by email by 5 p.m. Monday, September 15th, 2025.
