About This Call

REFINED: The Foreseeable Future is a national juried competition open to all artists working in the United States. The exhibition theme invites artists to reflect on what lies ahead through adornment, object-making, and sculptural form. Work might reflect on family and personal legacies, environmental responsibility, the resilience of materials, the shifting landscape of ornamentation, or the enduring necessity of adornment as both armor and expression.

Submissions are welcome in contemporary jewelry, metalwork, and small-to-medium-scale sculpture. Works may engage a broad spectrum of materials including metal, stone, plastic, fiber, glass, wood, or found objects. Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that challenge, reimagine, or celebrate what the future might hold, whether responding to personal experience, environmental responsibility, politics, social transformation, or the endurance of craft.

Entry fee is $30. Artists may submit up to 3 works, with one image per work. Two-dimensional works may not exceed 60 inches on the longest side or weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 60" (H) × 24" (W) × 24" (D); total height including pedestal must not exceed 60". Crated or packaged works must not exceed 50 lbs. All works must be original and completed within the last two years. Accepted works are due by September 29, 2025. The exhibition runs October 14, 2025 – January 4, 2026, with an opening reception on October 14, 2025. Works will be returned January 5–16, 2026. At least $1,500 will be awarded at the juror's discretion. The juror is Susie Ganch, a labor-intensive installation artist known for work incorporating recycled materials and addressing environmental and consumption issues. Artists must arrange and pay for round-trip shipment of their work and any insurance coverage during transit. A pre-paid shipping label must accompany artwork for return shipment. Hand delivery is also acceptable.
