REFINED Competition and Exhibition 2023

REFINED 2023 is open to all artists working in the United States. This eleventh exhibition showcases contemporary works in metalworking and jewelry, including jewelry, vessels, utensils, adornment, hollowware, furniture, installation, and sculpture. Artists are encouraged to use a wide variety of materials and techniques. All works must be original and completed within the last two years. The exhibition features an average of 60 works from across the country with international participation, offering a diverse view of the field in an educational contemporary environment.

Entry fee is $20, with a maximum of three entries per artist permitted. One image per work is allowed (no detail shots). Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 48" in height or width including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 60" in height, 24" in width, and 24" in depth; if a separate pedestal is included, total height must not exceed 60". Each crated or packaged work must not exceed 50 lbs. Artists must arrange and pay for round-trip shipment and any insurance coverage. A pre-paid shipping label must accompany artwork for return shipment. Work must arrive by October 2, 2023. Artists may not substitute, alter, or withdraw accepted works before the end of the exhibition.

Application deadline: September 3, 2023. Notification via CaFÉ system: September 11, 2023. Exhibition dates: October 24, 2023 - January 5, 2024. Opening reception: October 24, 2023. Artwork returned to artist: January 13, 2024. At least $1,500 will be awarded at the juror's discretion.
