About This Call

The City of Redmond is soliciting qualified artists or artist teams to design, fabricate, create, produce, construct, deliver, and install works of art at six locations on the secure side of Redmond Municipal Airport's terminal beyond the TSA checkpoint as part of the current terminal expansion project. The airport is located at 2522 Jesse Butler Circle, Redmond, Oregon 97756.

The RDM Public Art Program is dedicated to curating an immersive and inspiring art experience that reflects the values, heritage, and identity of central Oregon from its indigenous and pioneering historical roots to its dynamic present. City intends to procure visually engaging, durable, and meaningful works that enhance the airport environment and embody the unique spirit of central Oregon. The program features a mix of permanent and rotating artworks seamlessly integrated into public spaces throughout the terminal.

The terminal expansion project broke ground in July 2025 and is anticipated to be completed in November 2027. The total program budget is $1,000,000 and will be divided between the six project locations. Anticipated project commissions may range from $10,000 to $150,000 depending on scale, material, and installation complexity. Applicants may submit up to 6 applications. Work samples may include 1-10 images and/or 0-10 videos, with a minimum of 1 total sample required. Jury dates are March 2-25, 2026. Eligibility is open to qualified artists residing in the United States.
