About This Call
Celebrating its 59th year, the Red Wing Arts Fall Festival happens during the peak of the fall color season and attracts over 25,000 visitors from the Twin Cities, Rochester and Wisconsin as well as area Red Wing residents. As a core program of the nonprofit Red Wing Arts, the Fall Festival is known for its commitment to showcasing fine art, its artist hospitality, festive atmosphere, community support and strong artist sales. The festival takes place Saturday, October 11, 10 am - 5 pm and Sunday, October 12, 10 am - 4 pm in downtown Red Wing with artist booths and all-day concerts and food trucks in Central Park. In 2024, participating artists reported a total of over $181,000 in sales during the weekend.
Approximately 110 artist spaces are available with booth fees of $290 for single booths and $580 for double booths (limited availability). All booth spaces are approximately 10' wide x 12' deep on asphalt with no electricity available. Artists must provide white commercial-grade tents, display materials, and 50lb weights per leg as staking is not allowed. Media categories include ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal works, painting/drawing, photography, printmaking, wood, mixed media, and consumables. All work must be original, handmade work produced by the exhibiting artist with no commercial kits, molds, or mass production permitted.
Awards include the Larry Veeder Best of Show, Second Place, and Third Place with cash prizes and automatic entry exemption for the following year. The Best of Show winner also receives booth fee exemption and artwork featured in festival marketing. Artist hospitality includes coffee, donuts, soups, and snacks provided by volunteers and sponsors. Artists or immediate family members must be present at their booth for the entirety of the festival, and no early tear downs are permitted before 4 pm on Sunday.
