About This Call
The Loading Dock Gallery invites artists to submit work for "Red, White, and Blue," an exhibition running October 2 – November 1, 2020, in conjunction with the 6th Annual Poetry Convergence. The gallery poses the question: "What do the colors red, white, and blue represent to you?" Artists using a variety of media are invited to reveal what these colors evoke in them, whether memories, celebrations, symbols, ideals, perceptions of duty, democracy, elements of the Constitution or history, or aspects of the American Dream.
Eligibility is open to artists over 18 years of age in the New England region. Entries must be original artworks completed within the last five years; no reproductions. All artworks must be for sale. Video, projection, and performance will not be considered. Entry fee is $35 for non-members ($25 for Loading Dock Gallery members) for up to three entries. Submit 1-3 images of your work. Accepted artists will be notified by email by September 16, 2020.
2D work can be no larger than 48" wide or 72" high including frame, no more than 50 lbs., and must be hang ready with appropriate hanging hardware for drywall. Large framed artwork must use non-breakable glazing. 3D work can be free-standing, pedestal, or wall hung with no material restrictions. Free-standing work must not exceed 50 lbs. and 6' in any dimension. Wall-mounted work can weigh no more than 50 lbs., extend no more than 12" from the wall, and be no more than 48" in the longest dimension. Artwork delivery begins September 16 with a deadline of September 29. The gallery requires 40% commission on sales by non-members and will return payment within 15 days of the exhibition close. Pick up of unsold work begins November 2; work not collected by November 15 becomes gallery property.
