Red River Watercolor Society 22nd Annual National Watermedia Exhibition

The Red River Watercolor Society's 22nd Annual National Watermedia Exhibition will be held June 21st through July 31st, 2015 at Heritage Hjemkomst Gallery in Moorhead, Minnesota. The exhibition is juried by Anda K. Styles, who will also lead a workshop June 22-26. Exhibition awards include Gold ($1250), Silver ($1000), Bronze ($750), Excellence ($500), Red River Regional Award ($350), High Water Award ($250), and four Merit awards ($100 each).

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older working in two-dimensional water media including watercolor, gouache, casein, egg tempera, and acrylic. Work must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited in RRWS National Exhibitions. Paintings must be a minimum of 108 square inches (excluding mat) and maximum 60 inches in either direction. No pastels, oil pastels, prints, digital images, reproductions, or collage elements exceeding 10% of total surface are permitted. Only one painting per artist can be accepted; jurying is blind. Entry fee is $35 for up to two paintings; RRWS members receive a $10 discount. Non-members may join for an optional $10 fee.

Digital images must be submitted in jpg format at 72 ppi/dpi, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side, with maximum file size of 5 MB. Accepted paintings must be framed simply with white or pale neutral mats and wired for hanging under plexiglass. Handling fees are $15 for hand-delivery or $30 for shipped paintings. A 30% donation to RRWS is requested on sales. The opening reception is June 23, 6-8:30pm with awards presentation at 7:00pm (free admission).
