About This Call

The 49th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival is a celebration of art, music, food, and culture held at Festival Plaza in Shreveport, Louisiana. The festival features visual artists, four performance stages, food booths and a children's arts education area. Visual art is a central element to the Revel and great importance is placed on quality. Artists are selected to participate based on a blind jury process. Starting this year the festival will operate from Thursday-Sunday on two weekends: September 25th-28th and October 2nd-5th. Artists may choose the first weekend, the second weekend, or both weekends.

Artists can expect to be the featured dynamic of the festival, with art buyers travelling hundreds of miles specifically to purchase original art from vendors. Revel Artists accounted for nearly a million dollars in sales in 2024, and averaged over $10,000 per artist during the festival. The application fee is $40 and applications must be submitted online at www.zapplication.org. Artists receive direct sales with no commission, tents with outer walls provided, free parking, 24-hour on-site security, hospitality room with beverages, booth sitters and volunteers, and a $10 per diem for food and beverage.

Jury awards include Best in Show ($2,500), two Juror Awards ($1,000 each), and four Artistic Merit Awards ($750 each). All accepted artists must donate artwork valued at minimum $100 to the fundraiser to qualify for jury awards. Artwork must be original, designed and handcrafted by the exhibiting artist with no commercial reproductions or mass-produced items allowed. Artists are scored by a blind jury comprised of art experts, gallery owners and professional artists.
