RED: An Online Exhibition

O'Hanlon Center for the Arts invites submissions for RED, an online juried exhibition. The show runs July 12 to September 15, 2022, and is juried by Jen Tough. Artists are invited to submit work featuring the color RED in any form—from light pink to dark maroon or vibrant vermilion. The exhibition explores how artists approach and interpret the color RED and what it connotes: passion, anger, courage, fire, fever, love, good fortune, embarrassment, blood, or other meanings. This is not a monochromatic show; work must feature the color RED.

Each artist may submit up to 3 individual pieces of artwork. All visual media are welcome except video, including photography, fiber, sculpture, digital work, and more. Diptychs and triptychs are considered one piece and must be submitted as a single image. Contemporary, expressionistic, abstract, exploratory, and experimental entries are encouraged. Work does not need to be for sale. Artists must include a short description of each work submitted. The submission fee is $40 for non-members and $30 for O'Hanlon Center members. New members can join at the Artist level for $140/year and receive a free submission. The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11 p.m. Pacific Time. Artists will be notified of results by email by 5 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022. A Zoom roundtable art discussion to celebrate the show will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 4 p.m. Pacific Time, open to all selected artists. Works previously shown at the O'Hanlon Gallery in-house or online are not eligible. The exhibition is open to all artists ages 16 and older.
