About This Call
Red is a juried exhibition exploring the color red—its meaning, roles, and place in contemporary practice. This is the second installment of Site:Brooklyn's ongoing investigation into color. The exhibition seeks works in all genres and mediums from artists working in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, wall-mounted sculpture, collage, and video. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.
The exhibition runs June 14–July 13, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 6-9 PM. The entry deadline is May 2, 2019 at 11:59 PM MT. The entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images, with a $10 media fee for each additional image. Submissions may include up to 12 images and 3 videos (minimum 3 total samples required). Notification of acceptance will be sent May 11, 2019. The juror is Sara Reisman, artistic director of The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation and professor of curatorial practice at SVA.
Artwork must be original and suitably framed to professional standards (Plexiglas required except for hand-delivered work under 24" x 30"). Maximum size is 60" x 60" x 12" D. All artwork must be priced for sale, and Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping. Work cannot be withdrawn or sales shipped before the end of the exhibit. All entry fees are non-refundable.
