Reconnect: MSU Denver Alumni Exhibition

The Center for Visual Art (CVA) invites MSU Denver alumni to submit their work for consideration in Reconnect: MSU Denver Alumni Exhibition, a juried exhibition showcasing the creative range of MSU Denver alumni. The exhibition opens May 22, 2020 and runs through July 18, 2020. Jurors include Carlos Frésquez, Professor of Art at MSU Denver; Zoe Larkins, Assistant Curator at MCA Denver; and Natascha Seideneck, Assistant Professor of Art at MSU Denver.

Eligibility is open to all MSU Denver alumni who have graduated by May 2019 or earlier. Work must have been completed within the last five years (2014 or later) and must be in good condition and maintenance free for the duration of the exhibition. Artists may submit up to six works in any medium including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, installation, ceramics, printmaking, photography, communication design, artist's books, jewelry and metalwork, video, audio and performance. 2D, 3D and 4D works in any media are accepted.

Submissions must include one professional quality representation of each work: for 2D and 3D work, at least one high-quality image in JPG format no larger than 5MB; for 4D work, one audio or video file in .MP4 or .WAV format. Additionally, submit a resume or CV, contact information (name, address, phone, email, year graduated), and submission information for each work (title, materials, completion date, dimensions). An artist statement is optional. The entry fee is $20.00. Selected artists are responsible for transporting their work to CVA and collecting it upon conclusion of the exhibition; CVA will cover return shipping costs if work is shipped. CVA will provide insurance for the declared value of work while on premises. Artists may sell their work during the exhibition, with CVA taking a 25 percent commission; sold work must remain on site for the duration of the exhibition.
