Real People 2017

Real People is an open exhibition for all artists and media. Submitted work must depict the human form or face in some manner that is recognizable. The exhibit will be held at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, IL (located northwest of Chicago) and will run during August and September 2017, including a gala Artists' Reception on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. CDT (6 p.m. for artists and their families). The exhibition closes on Sunday, September 24, 2017.

Artists 18 years and older may submit up to 3 recently completed pieces for jurying. Artwork completed before January 1, 2015 is ineligible. All artwork must be original and depict the human form or face in a recognizable manner. Works previously shown at the Old Court House Arts Center are not eligible. Up to two pieces may be chosen for the show. Prints are allowed only if common practice for the media (photography, lithography, block-printing, bronze casting, etc.); gicleés and reproductions of original paintings are not acceptable. Each piece should be represented by only one image; do not submit detail images or multiple angles unless combined into a single composite image. Artwork made up of multiple pieces (diptychs, triptychs, etc.) should also be represented by only one image.

Gallery size limitation is six feet in any single dimension and 60 lbs. (including packaging). All work must be for sale with a 30% sales commission on sold works. The entry fee is $40.00 for up to three images. A $10.00 discount is available for current NAAC members or artists who applied to Women's Works 2017. Payment can be made through CaFÉ or by check made out to "NAAC" only, mailed to: The Old Court House Arts Center, ATTN: Real People, 101 N. Johnson St, Woodstock, IL 60098. Jury notifications will be emailed by July 9, 2017. Accepted artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the show. Unsold artwork will be shipped back within three weeks of the exhibition closing.
