About This Call
Real People 2016 is an open exhibition for all artists and media at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, IL (northwest of Chicago). Submitted work must depict the human form or face in a recognizable manner. The exhibition runs August through September 2016, with a gala Artists' Reception on Saturday, August 20, 2016 (7-9pm CDT, 6pm for artists and family). The exhibition closes October 1, 2016.
Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for jurying. Artwork must be original and completed after January 1, 2015. Up to two pieces may be selected for the show. Work must be for sale with a 30% sales commission on sold pieces. Gallery size limitation is 6 feet in any single dimension and 60 lbs (including packaging). Prints are allowed if common practice for the media (photography, lithography, block-printing, bronze casting, etc.), but gicleés and reproductions are not acceptable. Works previously shown at the Old Court House Arts Center are ineligible.
Entry fees: $25 (Real People 2016 Entry Fee) plus $5 (Media Fee). Jurying fees are $30 for one image, $35 for two images, or $40 for three images. A $10 discount is available for current NAAC Members or artists who applied to Women's Works 2016. Jury notifications will be emailed by July 16, 2016. Awards include First, Second, Third Place, Three Artistic Merit Awards, and others, with cash prizes totaling more than $1,300. Unsold artwork will be shipped back to artists within three weeks of the exhibition closing. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the show.
