About This Call
Real People 2015 is open to all artists and media. Submitted work must depict the human form or face in some manner. No works accepted into a previous Real People show are eligible for entry. The exhibit will be held at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, IL, located northwest of Chicago, and will run during August and September.
Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for jurying. All artwork must be original. Prints are allowed only if this is common practice for the media (photography and block prints are acceptable; giclees and other reproductions of paintings are not). Each piece should be represented by only one image. Artwork made up of multiple pieces (diptychs, triptychs, etc.) should be represented by one picture. Up to two pieces may be chosen for the show. Gallery size limitation is six feet in any single dimension and 60 lbs. All work must be for sale with a 30% sales commission on sold works.
Entry fees are $25 for the Real People 2015 entry fee and $5 for the media fee. Jurying fees are $30 for one image, $35 for two, or $40 for three images. Discounts of $10 are available for current NAAC members and for artists who previously applied to Women's Works 2015 (multiple discounts not allowed). The final entry deadline is July 5 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Jury notifications will be emailed by July 12. The opening reception is Saturday, August 22 at 7 p.m. CST (6 p.m. for artists and their family). The exhibition closes Saturday, September 26. Cash prizes totaling more than $1,000 will be awarded for First, Second, Third Place; 3 Artistic Merit Awards; and others. Unsold artwork will be returned to artists by mid-October. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the show, though accepted artwork may be dropped off at the gallery for local artists.
