Re-Emergence! Explorations in Photography and Printmaking

Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop & Gallery invites printmakers and photographers from around the world to submit work for the exhibition "Re-Emergence! Explorations in Photography and Printmaking," to be held at Remarque Print Workshop and Gallery in Albuquerque, NM from July 9–August 28, 2021.

The call seeks hand-printed photographic imagery using alternative processes such as photogravure, photopolymer intaglio, cyanotype, gum bichromate, carbon, salt, lumen, anthotype, gumoil, and other alternatives to straight digital printing. Work should explore the boundaries between photography and printmaking and involve some form of hand-work. The theme "Re-emergence" refers to the transition out from pandemic constraints and metaphorically explores a wide variety of transformational experiences. Artists should submit 3 to 5 images with a maximum paper size of 16 x 20" or 20 x 16". Entry fee is $35 USD, non-refundable. All selected works will be archivally framed and displayed in the Remarque Gallery. Artists are responsible for shipping and return shipping costs. Remarque will retain 50% of the retail price and the artist will receive 50%. Payment will be made via check or PayPal within thirty days of the end of the exhibition.

Entries must be submitted via CAFE by midnight MDT on May 31, 2021. Artists will be notified of jury results by June 9, 2021. Accepted works must arrive at Remarque no later than June 25, 2021. Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop is one of the first completely non-toxic printmaking facilities in the country, featuring a 3000+ square foot facility with two workshop spaces, six Takach presses, a classroom, and two gallery spaces.
