Raleigh Greenway Tunnel Art

The City of Raleigh seeks three artists or artist teams to create durable public artwork on tunnel entrances or wing walls along the Raleigh Greenway. Each artist or team will receive a commission for one of three separate locations. Artwork should make the trails more welcoming and engaging while remaining durable outdoors with minimal maintenance. Suitable approaches include ceramics, mosaics, fabricated metal panels, and wall-mounted sculpture. Painting may be incorporated into a larger installation, but proposals consisting solely of murals will not be considered. Artwork must not obstruct pathways or create hazards for trail users. Themes will be developed through community engagement.
