About This Call
The Raleigh Fine Arts Society invites North Carolina residents ages 18 and over to submit original works created within the last two years for the 2017 North Carolina Annual Artists Exhibition. Artists may submit up to two works. The exhibition will be juried by Michael Rooks, Wieland Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum in Atlanta. Awards include three $1,000 Juror's Choice awards and a Grand Prize of $3,000. Art will not be separated into categories for judging.
All submitted artwork must be available for purchase, with the Raleigh Fine Arts Society receiving a 30% commission on sales. The entry fee is $35.00. Work samples should include 1-6 images per submission. Maximum dimensions for any single work, including sculpture and frame, are 72 inches with a weight limit of 200 pounds. Two-dimensional work must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. Three-dimensional sculpture must have appropriate display stands or pedestals. Giclee prints are not acceptable; however, digital photography and digital prints are acceptable.
Entries must be submitted online through the CaFÉ program and finalized with payment received by 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2017. Selected works must be delivered to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 East South Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 on March 6, 2017 (1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) or March 7, 2017 (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), or shipped via UPS or FedEx with a prepaid return label. The exhibition opens March 12, 2017. Unsold work must be picked up on Friday, April 28 between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A professional exhibition catalogue will be published featuring a full page for each selected artist, including artwork image and up to 200 words of artist and biographical information.
