Raleigh Fine Arts: 2014 North Carolina Artists Exhibition

The Raleigh Fine Arts Society invites North Carolina residents (ages 18 and over) and full-time college and university students and faculty at N.C. schools to submit two original works executed within the last two years. Works exhibited in previous Raleigh Fine Arts Society exhibitions are not eligible. All work must be the sole work and exclusive property of the artist.

The exhibition will be held March 2 - April 25, 2014 at the Betty Ray McCain Gallery, Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, 2 East South Street, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601. The gallery is open to the public during performances at the Performing Arts Center. Dr. Eric Denker, a Senior Lecturer at the National Gallery of Art and Independent Curator, will serve as juror. The juror will present three $1,000 Juror's Choice awards and a Grand Prize of $3,000. Art will not be separated into categories for judging purposes.

Submit digital images of two works in JPEG format (one image for two-dimensional works; three images for three-dimensional works). File sizes cannot exceed 3MB, with minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side and 72 dpi resolution. All two-dimensional work must be wired and ready to hang. The maximum dimension of a single work, sculpture included, is 72 inches (including frame), and it should weigh no more than 200 pounds. Works requiring special handling and installation will not be accepted. The entry fee is $35.00. Online entry must be finalized and payment received by 10:00 pm on January 12, 2014. Notification letters will be mailed February 10, 2014. Hand delivery of accepted works is scheduled for Monday, February 24, 10 am-4 pm and Tuesday, February 25, 10 am-2 pm. The Juror's Lecture & Awards Ceremony is Sunday, March 2, 2 pm. The exhibition opening and reception is Sunday, March 2, 3–5 pm. The Raleigh Fine Arts Society encourages art that is for sale; all art will be available for purchase unless designated "NOT FOR SALE" at the time of entry. RFAS charges a 30% commission. Unsold exhibited work pick-up is Friday, April 25, prior to 6 pm.
