Radford Art Show

The Radford University Art Museum invites artists to submit work for the annual Radford Art Show, a regional exhibition highlighting talent from the New River Valley area of Virginia. This year's exhibition coincides with the City of Radford's Mary Draper Ingles Festival and is juried by award-winning artist and gallery owner Pippi Miller. The show features cash prizes and awards in categories for 2D and 3D artwork, including a $500 prize for Best in Show.

Eligibility is open to any artist ages 18 and older living in Western and West Central Virginia, including the following counties and cities: Alleghany County, Bedford, Bedford County, Bland County, Botetourt County, Bristol, Buchanan County, Buena Vista, Carroll County, Covington, Craig County, Dickenson County, Floyd County, Franklin County, Galax, Giles County, Grayson County, Henry County, Lee County, Lexington, Martinsville, Montgomery County, Norton, Patrick County, Pulaski County, Radford, Roanoke, Roanoke County, Rockbridge County, Russell County, Salem, Scott County, Smyth County, Tazewell County, Washington County, Wise County, and Wythe County. Artists may submit up to three original artworks created within the last 18 months. Entry fee is $35.00.

The exhibition runs July 23 – August 9, 2024 at Radford University Art Museum's Tyler Gallery (214 Tyler Avenue, Radford VA 24141). The opening reception is Friday, July 26 at 5 pm. Artwork must be dropped off in person July 11-13 and picked up in person August 10-13. Works that hang are limited to 84 inches in height, 48 inches in width, and 45 lbs in weight; 3D pieces cannot weigh more than 75 lbs. All 2D works must be framed or gallery ready with properly secured wire. Each work must have an identifying label securely attached to the back or bottom. Accepted works must remain on display for the entire duration of the exhibition.
