Quilts=Art=Quilts

Quilts=Art=Quilts is an international juried quilt exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York. The Art Center has been presenting quilts in a gallery setting since 1981. An emphasis is placed on overall quality of design, originality and visual impact. Preliminary acceptance will be granted on the basis of digital image submission. Prizes will be awarded for excellence in design and workmanship in multiple categories, including $1,000 for Best in Show.

Artists may submit up to 2 works of original art. Quilts must measure a minimum of 900 square inches total and have been completed in 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020. Quilts must have a continuous 3" wide sleeve attached to the back for hanging. Quilts made or derived from kits, workshops, classes or commercial patterns are not eligible. Quilts with pre-programmed computerized machine quilting are not eligible. Detail images are not accepted in submissions.

Entry fee is $35 for non-members and $30 for current members of the Schweinfurth Art Center. Entries must be made online with digital images submitted as JPEG or JPG files (1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, sRGB color profile). Notification of acceptance will be emailed August 26, 2020. Quilts must be delivered between September 21-25, 2020. The exhibition runs October 24, 2019 through January 10, 2021. Return shipping begins January 13, 2021. The Art Center will retain a 25% commission on all sales made during the exhibition. Artists are responsible for packing, shipping and insurance of work to and from the Art Center.
