Quenched

The Indianapolis Art Center announces a Call for Entry to Quenched, a juried exhibition featuring ceramic cups showcasing individual style and contemporary techniques. The exhibition is open to artists 18 or older residing in the United States working in any ceramic media.

Eligibility: Work must be made within the last two years and cannot have been previously shown at the Indianapolis Art Center. All work must be original and made by the artist or artist team; collaborative works are eligible. All ceramic mediums and vessel forms such as mugs, cups, yunomis, tumblers, goblets, and tea bowls are accepted. Work utilizing clay as a critical component (70% of submission) is eligible. Accepted work cannot be substituted; works that differ significantly from submitted images or have poor presentation will be ineligible. Works should be gallery-ready and display good craftsmanship.

Submissions require a $30 non-refundable entry fee for two pieces, plus $5 for each additional piece up to 15 pieces maximum. Submit two JPEG images (one full shot, one detail shot) sized to 1000x1000 pixels at 300 dpi, labeled with artist's last name, underscore, and first initial with entry number. Include title, materials, dimensions (HxWxD inches), year completed, and price. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by September 24, 2021. All accepted work must remain on display until December 17, 2021. Installation takes place October 18-29, 2021, with exhibition dates November 1 - December 16, 2021. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance. The Art Center retains a 35% commission on all sales. Awards: Best in Show $250, Runner Up $100, and four Honorable Mentions at $50 each.
