About This Call
The Quad Cities Public Sculpture Lease Program invites artists from across the United States to submit sculptures for a one-year public exhibition. Each application may consist of up to 8 sculptures, with each sculpture represented by a single photo and description including materials, size, and approximate weight. Submissions must include 1-3 images total.
All selected artists will receive a $1,500 stipend for the loan of their sculpture for the duration of the exhibition. The exhibition will be promoted by Quad City Arts, Visit Quad Cities, and presenting organizations. Sculptures will be available for sale, and more than sixteen sculptures have been purchased since the program began in 2002. A 20% commission is collected on items sold, with payments made after the exhibition closes.
Artists are responsible for all costs, equipment, transportation, and labor necessary for safe installation and removal. A boom truck and electricity are available upon request and pre-approval at no additional cost. Installation will be supervised by Quad City Arts and host city representatives. Sculptures must remain in place for the full exhibition period (June 10, 2024 - June 8, 2025). If unsold, artists must pick up their work promptly after the exhibition closes. The presenters maintain property damage insurance on installed sculptures but are not liable for claims, loss, theft, or damage during transportation. Photos of works may be used in marketing, promotional, and educational materials.
