PVAC Summer Show

The Summer Show is a juried all-media exhibition hosted by the Palos Verdes Art Center, open to members of PVAC's eight active artists groups: Artists Open Group, Pacific Arts Group, Paletteers, Palos Verdes Painters, Peninsula Artists, Photographic and Digital Artists, The Artists Studio, and Third Dimension. The exhibition runs July 18 – August 22, 2020. PVAC is placing images of all exhibition artwork online at pvartcenter.org; in the event PVAC remains closed to the public due to Los Angeles County orders, this will be a virtual exhibition only.

Juror Nina Zak Laddon is co-founder of Redondo Beach Arts as a Creative Advisor and has been curator of the CA 101 contemporary international art exhibition for the past 8 years. She is currently the TEDx Redondo Beach Organizer.

Eligibility requires current PVAC membership in good standing and active membership in one of the eight artists groups. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for a total entry fee of $35. Work samples must include 1-3 images (JPEG or JPG, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side) and may include up to 3 videos. All artwork must be original to the artist. Previously exhibited work at PVAC should not be submitted. Maximum size for 2-dimensional artwork is 50x60 inches including framing, not exceeding 30 pounds. Maximum size for 3-dimensional artwork is 72x36x36 inches, not exceeding 150 pounds. All media is eligible. Online submission runs May 1 – June 11 via CaFÉ. Juror selections will be announced by June 19. Selected works must be hand-delivered July 13, 9:00-11:00 am. Opening reception is July 17, 7:00-9:00 pm. Pick-up is August 24, 9:00-11:00 am. PVAC takes a 25% commission on all sales. Insurance coverage applies only during the exhibition duration; PVAC carries no earthquake insurance.
