PVAC Summer Art Show

The Palos Verdes Art Center invites submissions for the Summer Art Show, juried by landscape painter Karl Dempwolf. This exhibition is open to current members in good standing of PVAC and one of its eight affiliated art groups. Works that have been in previous PVAC exhibitions are not eligible.

Submissions must be made online via CaFE between April 15 and May 15, 2018. Artists may submit 1-9 images. The entry fee is $35 for up to three entries (nonrefundable). Work in all media is eligible. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 50"W x 60"H including frame and 30 pounds; three-dimensional work must not exceed 72" x 36" x 36" and 150 pounds. All two-dimensional work must be ready for hanging with D rings and wire. Wrap-around canvas 1.5 inches or thicker need not be framed but should be painted on all sides; thinner canvases must be framed. Frames must be in good condition with no damage.

Juror selections will be announced by June 8, 2018. Selected artwork must be hand-delivered to the Palos Verdes Art Center main gallery on Friday, July 13 from 9am to noon. The exhibition runs from June 20 to August 20, 2018, with an opening reception on Friday, July 13 at 6pm-7pm and an artist's reception with the juror on Friday, July 20 at 7pm-9pm. Total awards of $1,000 will be distributed: 1st Place $400, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $200, three Honorable Mentions at $50 each, and People's Choice $50. PVAC will take a 25% commission on all sales. Artwork must remain in the exhibition until Monday, August 20 for pickup between 9am-11am. Insurance coverage applies only during the exhibition duration; PVAC carries no earthquake insurance.
