About This Call
The Putnam CT Fine Arts and Crafts Fair will be held June 17-18, 2023, and will feature 30-50 fine artists and artisans from New England, New York, and New Jersey. The outdoor festival showcases handmade, original work including painting, pottery, photography, jewelry, glass, and more. Visitors can enjoy live musical entertainment, and the grounds are a short walk from Downtown Putnam with local shops, galleries, and restaurants.
Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2023, with a $10 entry fee. Applicants must submit 5 images of their work, including one booth shot showing a fully set-up fair-ready booth. All work must be designed and crafted by the applying artist and be original or part of a limited edition. Artists may apply in up to 2 categories from: Drawing, Fiber, Folk-art, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metalworking, Painting, Paper, Photography, Ceramics, Printmaking, Woodworking, or Mixed Media. The call is open to artists 18 years or older. Rolling acceptances will continue until capacity of 50 artists is reached. Accepted artists will be notified by email and must pay a $100 booth fee by May 20, 2023.
Each artist receives a 12' x 12' booth space for a 10' x 10' canopy. Exhibitors must provide their own tents, tables, canopies, and booth signage. No electricity or generators are provided. Tents must be weighted down (spikes are not permitted due to the irrigation system). Booth setup occurs Friday, June 16, 12pm-7pm and Saturday, June 17, 7am-9:45am. The festival runs June 17-18, 10am-4pm. All work must be family-friendly and for sale with clearly marked prices. Artists are responsible for Connecticut sales tax (6.35%). The festival is drug-free with no smoking allowed in or near booths. In the event of severe weather, the Putnam Arts Council reserves the right to close the show for safety reasons.
