About This Call
Pushing Paper: Realizing the Potential of the Medium is a national juried exhibition at Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. The exhibition seeks work that explores and manipulates the materiality of paper, as well as works on paper, including watercolor, oil, photography, prints, digital work, and drawings. Artists are invited to provide a juxtaposition of traditional styles and cutting-edge practices. In addition to 2-D works in all media, sculpture and installation are encouraged.
The exhibition runs from Saturday, August 11 through September 22, 2018, in the galleries of Barrett Art Center's 1840s Greek Revival townhouse. The juror is Paul Wong, Master Papermaker and retired Artistic Director of Dieu Donné (Papermill, Brooklyn Navy Yard). Awards include Juror's Prize, Second Prize, and Honorable Mention.
Entry fees are $40 for the first three images plus $5 for each additional image (non-members); BAC members pay $30 for the first three images plus $5 for each additional image. Submit 3-10 images.
