Punctum: 20th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition

The Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW) is opening the call for entries for Punctum: the 20th Annual PCNW Juried Exhibition. The juror is Julia Dolan, Minor White Curator of Photography at the Portland Art Museum. The exhibition title is drawn from theorist Roland Barthes' concept of punctum, or that in a photograph which pierces a viewer—a particular detail, passage, or moment, combined with what each individual viewer also brings to an image. The theme is open and an artist statement is encouraged with each entry. All photo processes are welcome.

Entry fee is $50 for 5 JPGs (minimum). Additional JPGs may be submitted for $5 each, up to 10 total. Minimum 5 images, maximum 10 images required. International artists are eligible. Payment must be in U.S. Dollars and entry fees are non-refundable. Selected artists will be notified by email and telephone in late September 2015.

Selected work will be exhibited at PCNW in Seattle, WA from November 7 – December 19, 2015. Framed work must arrive by October 25. Artists are responsible for shipping their framed work to and from the gallery. All sales of work in the juried show will be conducted by PCNW, which will retain a 50% commission on all work sold. Artists can determine if they wish to sell their work.
