Public Art Orlando

Public Art Orlando is seeking a professional digital artist in Orange County, Florida to create three pieces of digital artwork for Madison Landing, a new high-rise affordable housing development in south Orlando. The artwork will be transposed onto large, manufactured panels that will be permanent fixtures displayed on the exterior wall near the entrance of the building at 5800 S Rio Grande Avenue, Orlando, FL 32809.

The selected artist must capture the positive essence of the south Orlando area through either local flora and fauna or abstract interpretation, with a sunshine element represented in the work. Three pieces of digital artwork are required: one focal point piece and two additional pieces maintaining the same theme and style. The artwork will be displayed on large panels consisting of one roughly 10 x 30 feet and two 4 x 6 feet in size. Digital artwork must be created in a format that allows for very large expansion without pixilation or distortion.

Compensation is $5,000 for the digital artwork. This opportunity is available to professional artists in Orange County, Florida with digital art experience. Applicants must submit a professional resume, letter of interest outlining their approach to the project, and a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 12 images of finished works or conceptual drawings. A selection panel will review qualifications and portfolios, and several artists will be selected to provide proposals and will be paid a $500 stipend each. Final artist selection will follow proposal review. Artists will be evaluated on artistic style and experience as evidenced by submitted materials and professional experience.
