Public Art Archive Anniversary Map Remix Project

The Public Art Archive is creating a second edition of the "Have You Seen My Public Art?" map, originally created in 2013 by artist Kenny Be. This new map will be created by artist Kara Fellows using newly submitted public art imagery to increase visibility of diverse public art across the United States and US territories. The map will be distributed widely via digital networks and used in occasional collateral material including postcards and posters.

All artwork submissions will be juried for inclusion in the map. A selection committee of WESTAF staff will select up to 5 artworks from each state/territory. Artworks chosen for inclusion will be notified by May 15, 2022. All submissions, whether selected or not, will be added to the Public Art Archive repository and made available on the public website and the Locate Public Art web application.

This project is open to all artists and organizations that are creators, commissioners, and/or owners of public artworks created within the last ten years (2012-2022). Public art is defined as artwork in a place accessible or visible to the public without an entrance fee. Each artist or organization can submit up to 20 applications. Submissions must include 1-10 total work samples (up to 8 images and 2 videos). Artists with previously submitted artworks in the Public Art Archive should provide the URL of the artwork in their application.
