About This Call
ProximityNFK is a juried exhibition of artworks depicting or featuring "local icons and treasures" within a 150-mile radius of Norfolk, Virginia, created by artists who live within 150 miles of Norfolk, Virginia. Examples of local icons and treasures include monuments, community hangouts, neighborhoods, festivals, events, buildings, parks, nature reserves, local ecosystems and native sceneries, companies, organizations, and industries.
The exhibition is open to all functional and non-functional work in 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums and styles. Work must be hang or pedestal ready, no longer than 60" in its longest dimension, and weigh no more than 50 pounds. The $35 entry fee covers up to 10 submissions (one image per submission). Artists may submit a minimum of 1 and maximum of 10 images. This is an in-person exhibition that will also be featured digitally on d'Art Center's archive site.
The exhibition runs September 7 - October 5, 2024, with a reception on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5:30 - 7:30pm. The entry deadline is July 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Accepted artists will be notified by email by 5pm on Monday, August 5, 2024. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, August 31, 2024. Hand deliveries are accepted by pre-arrangement. The exhibition is co-curated by d'Art Center Gallery Director Amanda Bradley and Artist & Exhibition Juror Clayton Singleton.
