Providence Art Club National Open Juried Exhibition 2021

The Providence Art Club invites artists from throughout the United States to submit their recent work for an open juried exhibition. This year's show will celebrate the best in contemporary art by makers from throughout the United States regardless of theme, style, or media. Founded in 1880, the Providence Art Club is one of the oldest arts organizations in the nation and the first such Club to be co-founded by women and men. Recognized as one of the top three galleries in Rhode Island by the Providence Journal, the Art Club received a coveted Best of Rhode Island Award for Best Art Gallery in Providence in 2019 and 2020.

The exhibition will be juried by Jamie Gabbarelli, PhD, Prince Trust Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings at The Art Institute of Chicago. Dr. Gabbarelli is a curator and art historian specializing in printmaking, with a PhD in History of Art and Renaissance Studies from Yale University. He has held curatorial fellowships at the British Museum, Yale University Art Gallery, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

Entry fee is $35 ($25 for PAC members). Submit 1-2 images of original artworks completed within the last four years. Fourteen prizes totaling $6,000 in awards will be given, including a Best in Show Prize of $1,000. Accepted artists will be notified via email on May 7. Work delivery is May 10-27 at the gallery (12-4pm weekdays or by appointment). Exhibition dates are May 30 – June 17, 2021, open weekdays 12-4pm and by appointment. A physical exhibition will be accompanied by an online gallery. All works must be for sale. Sales commission is 25% for PAC members and 40% for non-members. The Providence Art Club carries blanket insurance covering fire, theft, and breakage at 2/3 of the sale price, not to exceed $250.
