Providence Art Club National Open Juried Exhibition

The Providence Art Club invites artists from throughout the United States to submit their recent work for an open juried exhibition. This year's show will celebrate the best in contemporary art by makers from throughout the United States regardless of theme, style, or media. Founded in 1880, the Providence Art Club is one of the oldest arts organizations in the nation and the first such Club to be co-founded by women and men. In 2019 the Art Club was recognized as one of the top three galleries in Rhode Island by the Providence Journal, and received a coveted Best of Rhode Island Award for Best Art Gallery in Providence.

The exhibition will be juried by Matthew Hargraves, PhD, Chief Curator at the Yale Center for British Art. Fourteen prizes totaling $6,000 in awards will be given, including a Best in Show Prize of $1,000. The exhibition runs May 9 - May 29, 2020, with a reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, May 16 from 4-6pm. Entry fee is $35 ($25 for PAC members). Entries must be original artworks completed within the last four years. All works in the exhibition must be for sale. Three-dimensional works may not be heavier than 100 lbs. Submit 1-2 digital images via the application platform. Accepted artists will be notified via email on April 10. Accepted work should be delivered to the Providence Art Club, 11 Thomas Street, Providence, RI 02903 between Monday, April 13 - Wednesday, May 6 (12-4pm weekdays, 2-4pm weekends). Sales commission is 25% for PAC members and 40% for non-members. All exhibited work must be picked up or return shipping arranged between Monday, June 1 and Friday, June 5.
