Proud To Be Seen 2025

Proud To Be Seen is an exhibition inviting artists to interpret the pride of who they are and their community. Artists may consider picturing pride, an examination of what Pride means to them, being seen, a journey to pride, how artists interpret Pride, the eyes of Pride, and self-discovery through Pride. Artists are encouraged to create innovative work in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract.

Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and cannot have been previously displayed at TCA. All work must be original creations by the artist. Up to 40 works will be selected for a virtual online exhibition hosted on the Tubac Center of the Arts website, with selected artworks also presented at Black Dog Gallery in Tubac, AZ. Selected artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping. Awards will be selected from gallery works and presented during the opening reception on Friday, May 30th. Artists must select whether they are applying to the Physical & Virtual exhibition or only the Virtual exhibit.

Entry fee is $30 for the first image and $3 for each additional image (up to 3 images total). All artwork must be original, executed within the last 24 months, and no larger than 36" x 36". All work must be for sale; TCA and Black Dog Gallery share a 40% commission on sold work, with artists receiving 60% of the sale price. Awards include Best of Show ($300), Award of Excellence ($200), Award of Merit ($100), and two Honorable Mention awards ($50 each). The exhibition runs May 30 - July 4, 2025. Participating artists must be 18 years or older and reside in the United States.
