Proud To Be Seen 2023

Proud To Be Seen is an exhibition inviting artists to interpret the pride of who they are and their community. Artists may consider picturing pride, an examination of what Pride means to them, being seen, a journey to pride, how artists interpret Pride, the eyes of Pride, and self discovery through Pride. Artists are encouraged to create work that is innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract.

Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and cannot have been previously displayed at Tubac Center of the Arts. All work must be original creations by the artist. Up to 50 works will be selected for a virtual online exhibition hosted on both the Tubac Center of the Arts and Bruce Baughman Studio & Gallery websites. From those 50, selected artworks will be presented at Bruce Baughman Studio and Gallery in Tubac, AZ. Selected artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping. Awards will be selected from gallery works and presented during the opening reception on Friday, May 26th. Artists must choose whether to apply for the Physical & Virtual exhibition or Virtual exhibit only.

Entry deadline is April 24, 2023. Artist notification is May 1, 2023. The exhibition runs May 26 - July 2, 2023, with the opening reception at Bruce Baughman Studio & Gallery, 19 Tubac Road, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on May 26th. Entry fee is $35 for the first image and $3 for each additional image (up to 3 images). Virtual exhibit only is $25 for the first image with a $10 discount code available. All work must be for sale with a 40% commission shared between TCA and Bruce Baughman Studio Gallery; artists receive 60% of the sale price. Awards include Best of Show ($500), Award of Excellence ($300), Award of Merit ($200), and two Honorable Mention awards ($75 each). Participating artists must be 18 years or older and reside in the United States.
